The Jason & his Argonauts on Tour app is packed with information about the new Jason Wilsher-Mill 2021 exhibit at The Peoples History Museum in Manchester, England. Find information about Jason Wilsher-Mills body of work, including some of his new exhibits - Changing Places and the PHM Argonaut. Jason & his Argonauts on Tour also features augmented reality, showcasing artwork from disabled communities across the country.
Jason has been working for the past 12 months with disability groups all around the UK as part of the Arts Council England funded project Jason & his Argonauts on Tour. The groups were:
• Teamwork Trust – Northamptonshire
• Oakley Grange – Corby, Northamptonshire
• This New Ground – Hammersmith, London
• Venture Arts – Manchester
• Starlight Arts – Scunthorpe
• Ganton School – Hull
• CASE Training – Hull
• Dannys Dream
• Jonathan Reynolds – Young artist
Much like his mythological Greek namesake Jason – he travelled the land to create art and find stories about the disability communities. Many of the sessions took place virtually, with the work created being sent to Jason afterwards.
What you will see in this virtual gallery is a representation of the beautiful work produced in these sessions, but some incredible artists, with some of the work being created about:
• their own disabilities
• their families
• where they come from and the pride they feel about their home towns/cities
• their reaction to lockdown
• things there are passionate about
This is the culmination of many months of hard work, friendships being forged, and great art being made.
